You won’t find a more peaceful and lovely location than this log home which will be your home base on the shore of Ootsa Lake.
Sunday you will meet up with your Trip Lead in Smithers who will grab your gear and transport you to a lakeside lodge on the shore of the Nechako Reservoir where you can get settled in for the evening. Sunday evening over a welcome drink your Trip Lead will go over the details of the field plan, and explain how this fits in to the broader research study.
You will spend your mornings out on the water, collecting and then analyzing water samples. Afternoons and evening times are free for you to enjoy this lovely location. Boating, hiking, reading and photography are all on the menu. On Friday afternoon it will be time to head back to Smithers, and ultimately find your way home, having contributed to the scientific knowledge and had a wonderful vacation.
